My photography explores the layers of history, human influence, and natural decay etched into the surfaces of buildings. Alternatively, it might be a pattern on my ceiling at night. Or an impression in a simple cotton sheet.

I document scenes, veneers, and objects to capture the rich textural topography—tiers of peeling paint, sun-bleached stone, rust and wearing—the intricate decay found on exterior and interior walls, surfaces, and everyday objects. The idea is to distill the essence of a thing or place through its protective strata.
